Meet Ben Croxford – the new Senior Physiotherapist at Form & Practice

Form & Practice is extremely excited to have Ben Croxford join the team across both our clinics in Olinda and Mount Evelyn.

Ben is coming to F&P with extensive experience having spent over 10 years working in private practice.

He began his physiotherapy journey after graduating with Honours from the University of Melbourne in 2009.

Since then, Ben has further developed his physiotherapy knowledge and can assess, diagnose and help treat a range of conditions including chronic musculoskeletal and spinal pain, headaches, sporting and running-related injuries, orthopaedic rehabilitation and a variety of other movement-related problems.

During his 10 years in private practice, Ben discovered a strong interest in helping those suffering with chronic pain and works with clients on how to treat, manage and live with it. With an understanding that chronic pain is complex, he believes that he can help clients beat it by diving deep into the contributing factors and building a plan to empower them to work through it.

Ben also has a particular interest in treating running injuries, being a running enthusiast himself. He can treat running injuries of all abilities, which may include training program development and running biomechanical analysis.

On top of Ben’s extensive knowledge in 1:1 clinical treatment, he is also a GLA:D and Pilates trained physiotherapist. He’s spent time running Pilates in both group and individualised settings and enjoys developing home-based Pilates rehabilitation programs for clients. Through his experience, he believes Pilates is useful for everyone, especially those with acute and chronic back, hip and shoulder issues. With his GLA:D training, he is able to develop effective treatment programs for people with hip and knee osteoarthritis.

Ben uses evidence-based treatment programs that can include manual therapy, Dry Needling, biomechanical assessments (especially running technique), exercise/rehabilitation and Pilates. Most importantly, his goal with any client is to develop a treatment program that is tailored to their individual needs and goals.

An extremely passionate Essendon fan, bass-guitarist and a pursuer of quality coffee and a good Australian Shiraz, Ben will happily chat for hours about these topics if you allow him to! He is also an outdoor enthusiast and loves to live by his golden rule for health and well-being – “Keep Moving!”
