What is Remedial Massage?

Post-Operative-Physiotherapy

Remedial Massage therapy is one of the key services that we offer at Form & Practice and can greatly assist in rehabilitation of injuries and pain. It can especially form a key part of treatment of those who experience long-lasting (or chronic) pain.

A Remedial Massage consultation will start with a review of muscles, ligaments, tendons and your
movements and posture. This assessment allows us to locate and repair damaged areas of the body and
speed up the body’s own healing process. The treatment process can be Strong and Deep OR Gentle and Shallow, depending upon the nature of the pain and affected area.

Some of the key Benefits of Remedial Massage:

1) Targets the specific area needing treatment.
2) Improves Immunity and Alertness.
3) Increases Joint Mobility, Flexibility and Posture.
4) Increases Blood Circulation
5) Reduces Physical and Psychological Stress.

What to Expect on your Remedial Massage Appointment:

  • Before starting your treatment, your Therapist will ask a series of questions and conduct several of test to evaluate your condition and treatment needs. We offer 30, 60 or 90 minute sessions – with the longer sessions giving us more time to assess and treat all the necessary regions of the body.
  • Techniques we might use for treatment:
  • Soft Tissue Manipulation
  • Myofascial Release
  • Trigger Point Therapy
  • Muscle Energy Technique (MET)
  • Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation
  • Cupping
  • Deep Tissue Massage
  • Stretching

All of our Remedial Massage Therapists are fully qualified and registered therapists. This means that our
